Commissions
About My Commissioned Portraits
My portraits are all drawn from photos. I draw using graphite and professional-quality paper or drafting film. Drafting film is my preferred surface, because its translucency allows me to create dreamy, glowing portraits.
When commissioning a portrait, the quality of the reference photograph plays a key role in the final result. Clear, well-lit images – especially those taken in natural light – make the strongest references.
Graphite on drafting film is extremely fragile, so my drawings must be framed carefully. For those in the Toronto area, I can recommend an excellent framer who regularly handles delicate work.
